💌 Ronald McDonald House eCards

I built this eCard experience for an internal Microsoft Give campaign supporting Ronald McDonald House. It gives volunteers a way to create personalized cards with words of encouragement through an accessible, multilingual interface.

Use case

The app supports a volunteer card-writing activity: participants choose approved artwork, compose a supportive message, and preview their card before downloading or submitting it. Organizers can configure event information and an optional volunteer-tracking link.

Creating a card

  • Choose a design and write a message in a supported language.
  • Optionally use AI to help review the message or generate a background; the approved design catalog remains usable without AI.
  • Preview the card and export it as a JPG rendered in the browser.
  • Submit the finished card for the organizer's approved human review process before distribution.

Built with

The frontend uses React, TypeScript, Vite, and Canvas on Azure Static Web Apps. A dedicated Node.js Azure Functions API handles submissions to private Azure Blob Storage, with optional Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Content Safety integrations.

The repository includes setup and deployment guidance. Its source code is open source, but branded artwork has separate permissions and is not covered by the code's MIT license.
